Notice anything different about this issue of Lavender?

It’s what’s called “perfect-bound” in the printing industry. Simply put, instead of being stapled as in the past, our magazine from now on will be glue-bound, which means it will have a printed spine. Previously, only our annual Pride and Yellow Pages editions were published using this process.

For 13-and-a-half years, Lavender has served Minnesota’s GLBT community as its best information resource. Perfect binding takes us to the next level in publishing. It complements our having gone full-color glossy in 2005. It will increase the magazine’s already-lengthy shelf life.

Locally, only handful of publications, most notably Minnesota Monthly and Mpls.-St. Paul Magazine—which have a cover price—are perfect-bound. By contrast, Lavender is free of charge—thanks to our wonderful advertisers! It’s available at 1,000 distribution sites.

So, you now proudly can display each issue of Lavender on your coffee table with the best of them. As always, we appreciate the support of you, our loyal readers!
