Purimball

Celebrate the Jewish holiday of Purim at Purimball, an adult costume party for Jews and non-Jews. You’ll dance to the best of disco, 80’s, 90’s, and Top 40. There’s free valet parking, signature cocktails, and a photo booth. Enjoy lots of sweets, including Hamantaschen and vegan/gluten-free options. The best treat of all will be the pop-up dance performances by Queenie Von Curves Hayes and Sweetpea. Compete in a costume contest hosted by Joy Vey with fabulous prizes from gift baskets to gym memberships. 100 percent of the net proceeds will be donated to TC Jewfolk, which works to build a vibrant online resource for Jewish news and culture in the Twin Cities. Bearracuda

Bears and Cubs and Otters…Oh Grrrrrrr! What started in 2006 as a monthly San Francisco party has become the largest attended bear dance party and most prolific gay dance event in the country. For those of you who’ve never attended Bearracuda, expect awesome music, custom visuals, sexy go-go boys, and of course, lots of furry guys. Of course, the biggest part of any dance party is the music, and for Minneapolis Bearracuda, they’re bringing in DJ John LePage from San Francisco. Plastic Language & 20th Anniversary Kickoff Event

The Cowles Center for Dance

A 20th Anniversary Kickoff Event for ARENA Dances will be held at The Cowles Center prior to the closing night performance of Plastic Language. Tickets are $150, and includes a reserved ticket to the closing night performance of Plastic Language, heavy appetizers by Marin, a cash bar, craft cocktails by AVIV Vodka, and a sneak peek of performances that make up the 20th Anniversary Season — featuring some of the Twin Cities’ brightest dancers of the past 20 years.
