Mike Nelson founded Campfire Desserts in 2001, inspired by his early experiences as a camp counselor. After obtaining an entrepreneurship grant from St. Olaf College, Nelson has taken his Campfire Desserts trailer to fairs and festivals throughout Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin, featuring the deep-fried s’more on a stick. Since its inception, Campfire Desserts has expanded into catering and S’more Catering was born, which features the “Build Your Own S’more Bar” and other s’more inspired desserts to accompany the s’more bar.
Today, more brides and grooms are opting for more unique desserts as a late-night snack at the reception. S’more Catering provides a large variety of homemade flavored marshmallows, gourmet chocolates and graham crackers, along with a gluten free option. S’more Catering also provides more than just a dessert; it provides an experience of roasting that perfect marshmallow and creating that unique s’more with family and friends. Gift bags are also available for guests to take home.
