Believe me, I get it. Shopping for my demographic can be difficult. We’re picky. Our social group is made up of mostly recent college graduates who can’t afford high-end gifts. And we are from a time when the shiniest new version will come along in two weeks, which begs the question: is it worth it?

I present to you the wishlist of one young, gay man who likes to think he is on the trendier side yet must remain within a budget. Sound like someone you know? Read on.

1. My Other Bag
An ode to handbags we love, these canvas totes feature images reminiscent of iconic designer handbags.  Everyone has their go-to bag, a dream bag. My Other Bag is the perfect complement – carry it in addition to your designer handbag or alone as you tackle your day’s To Do list. The grocery store, the gym, errands, or packing for the weekend, it’s the perfect other bag. Pictured here, My Other Bag tote pays homage to the Louis Vuitton Neverfull bag.

2. Double-breasted Cardigan
Everyone expects chunky sweaters to pop up this season, but what they don’t expect are the details in this one from H&M. Available in three colors, this burgundy version of the mélange wool blend is right on trend for the season. The double-breasted buttons allow you to close the collar and lapel or leave open as your fashion statement entails. Plus, H&M has a long history of running same-sex ads, so the Swedish company has been ahead of the retail game for some time now.

The set comes with a tweezers to retrieve the charm inside of each candle. Join the fight for equality with proceeds benefitting the Human Rights Campaign.

5. Wool Patchwork Throw
This is a bit more on the spendy side, but it goes to a good cause! This throw will provide plenty of chic comfort on those cold Minnesota nights. Hand-knit in varied patterns, the naturally dyed wool features the work of women artisans in the Kathmandu Valley of Nepal working to support their families and to provide their children with an education.
