Gender Reel, the only coast-to-coast film and performance art festival dedicated to enhancing the visibility of gender non-conforming, transgender and queer people, images and experiences, takes place in four cities around the United States; Minneapolis, MN Oakland, CA, Portland, OR, and Philadelphia, PA. Gender Reel was started in 2010 by a group of Philadelphia based organizers and activists in response to the lack of transgender inclusion at more mainstream Gay, Lesbian and Bi-sexual (LGB) Film festivals. Movie Bear’s Annual Apple Picking Day
