CALL FOR ARTIST ENTRIES: Artwork for Lavender Magazine’s 2011 Yellow Pages (Issue 433) Cover
Be the cover artist for the 2011 Lavender Yellow Pages and help raise money for Minnesotans United for All Families (MUFAF).
Each year, Lavender uses a piece of art for the cover of the Yellow Pages issue, the subject of which benefits a nonprofit organization that close to the GLBT community. This year, the recipient organization is Minnesotans United for All Families. Minnesotans United for All Families is a coalition of organizations and businesses and people committed to fight the anti-marriage amendment that will be on the Minnesota ballot in November of 2012. Help us help them help us.
Do you have a piece of artwork that would encapsulate or represent the fight against Minnesota’s Anti-Marriage Amendment? Would you like to see your artwork on every issue of Lavender Magazine (as well as the online magazine) at the end of December? Would you donate your work to be auctioned off to benefit Minnesotans United for All Families?
If interested, please send a photo or scan of your work and a 100-word (or less) statement as to why you think it would best represent this fight against the anti-marriage amendment to firstname.lastname@example.org by the end of the day (11:59pm) on Sunday, December 11, 2011. The entries will be reviewed by a committee and the winner will be informed on Tuesday, December 13.
Artwork must be complete–this is not a commission.
Artwork must be available for photograph or already ready for publication; large enough for a print-resolution magazine cover.
Artwork will be donated; in exchange, artist will receive a free half-page ad in the Lavender Yellow pages (valued at $2,099 for Premium Edition placement), an article about the artist, in addition to being on the cover of the largest, most widely circulated GLBT magazine in the region as well as being a visible supporting artist of defeating the anti-marriage amendment.
