Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge is honoring all things avian during World Migratory Bird Day. The day begins with mist netting and bird banding at 8:30 a.m. with doors open at the Bloomington Visitor Center at 9. Activities include bird crafts and educational activities, bee box and birdhouse building, a University of Minnesota of Minnesota Raptor Center live raptor demonstration, a Wildlife Rehabilitation Center bird release. U.S. Fish & Wildlife Staff will lead discovery hikes throughout the day featuring the new Discover Nature App. Wear weather-appropriate clothing and footwear and pack a lunch or snacks if you plan to stay for the day. 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, May 12.
