In May we’ll present concerts focused on Mother’s Day, exploring the guidance, mentorship, and leadership of the Mothers in our lives. The following excerpt from well-known abolitionist Julia Ward Howe’s original Mother’s Day Proclamation of 1870 is the inspiration for the concert:
“Arise, all women who have hearts…In the name of womanhood and of humanity, I earnestly ask that a general congress of women without limit of nationality may be appointed and held at some place deemed most convenient and at the earliest period consistent with its objects, to promote the alliance of the different nationalities, the amicable settlement of international questions, the great and general interests of peace.”
May 11th we will feature the Twin Cities Girl’s choir along with Twin Cities Women’s Choir and ENCORE! May 12th we will present our Divas and Desserts Gala, featuring cabaret-style seating, live and silent auctions, delicious desserts, the Twin Cities Women’s Choir and ENCORE!
