Collecting slightly used shoes (not heels) for Good In The ‘Hood
“We focus primarily on kids’ shoes, women’s/men’s tennis shoes, sandals, boots, casual business (heels 1-inch heel or less),” says Jamie Morrison, executive director. “We have not yet been able to find a great market for high heels (shoes with a heel higher than an inch) unfortunately. It seems people are not wearing them much anymore in daily wear. That said, we will accept all shoes that are ‘great’ – new unwanted or very slightly used ‘good’- some wear and tear, but still quite useable.”
“Our program focuses on helping people who struggle with financial insecurity, to obtain quality footwear. Revenue generated through this program, goes toward our hunger relief innovative, that currently feeds 4,000-plus individuals monthly.” For more information, see: http://goodinthehood.org.
