Red Cross Blood Drive Leaves Out Gay Students

Minnesota Daily reports that Tanner Zimmerman wanted to donate blood to the American Red Cross on Monday, but couldn’t because of his sexual orientation and a policy put in place by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in 1983 that prohibits men who have had sex with other men in or after 1977 from donating blood.
