Wow. Not only was your analogy of DADT and Jews in Nazi Germany incorrect, it was, frankly, offensive. Why so angry about someone being fired for violating the known restrictions of a voluntary job? Jews (or any of the other persecuted groups) were KILLED for the crime of existing. Being in the U.S. military is a voluntary job that comes with some asinine restrictions. Everyone who joins, voluntarily again, joins knowing those asinine policies. Anyone who can\\\’t abide by them should never have taken the job (or quit once they came to that conclusion).

About the student that did a report on Harvey Milk. If the students needed permission from their parents to hear the report cause it fell under the sexual education rule of the district. Would the same go for a report about J. Edgar Hoover? It is reported that he wore womens clothing. I think that the powers that be have too much fucking time on their hands and are so closed minded. It was a report of a histoical figure, not about sex. I really do hate this country.

Oh Yves, it’s not the first time I’ve butchered an analogy or been accused of being offensive. My point was that service members are being fired simply for existing and that shaming or belittling someone for being true to oneself, even when one knows there will be consequences is, in my opinion, patently ridiculous.

Perhaps it’s more akin to telling a person of color during the 1960s who sat at an all-white lunch counter and gets arrested, “Oh, you should’ve known better.”

And, I’d still like you to watch the interview I mentioned. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26315908/#30834555

If after watching the interview you still feel as “it’s his own damn fault for joining in the first place” as your comment implies, then, well, I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree on this one.

We are the same person in so many ways. I just have to thank you immensely for being the one to put it all out there for us to consume on the interwebs! Lord knows I don’t quite have the cahones or massive titties to speak out as such. And I’m only posting this because I’m lubricated, but just a smidge. Or as my grandmother (with big playful boobs) used to say prior to having her cocktail refreshed: “just a sploosh, honey”. Love you darling! And happy holiday weekend.

Just watched Rachel’s spot mentioned above. Interesting that I live in Tucson, Arizona. This is where Davis Monthan Air Force Base, where LT. COL. Fehrenbach is stationed, is located. I am generally pretty up on the local media, and this is the first I am hearing about this. There has been no mention, as far as I know, in the local media. I will be notifying the Arizona Daily Star, and a friend I have at KOLD, CBS affiliate, about this and hope to get this some more coverage. Thanks again, Wanda. ;)
