LBR#708: Holy Racism, Batman!
Wanda’s offers her take on the new Batman movie, “The Dark Knight,” which she saw last night courtesy of funtabulous gal pal, Jason Matheson. She then transitions into a rip roaring take on race and satire. Plus, there’s another Random Mini Disco Dance Party!

Wandita, could you tell me the name of that French disco singer and the title of that random song from today’s progrum?
Cheers, thanks a lot!
Dearest Wanda:
Human’s aren’t racist because of societal notions… in fact I would say society does a great job to deprogram the amount of inherent prejudgement in humans.
Humans are very, very preprogrammed from an early age to pre-judge things and be fearful. People they don’t know are deemed to be threatening unless they have formal introductions.
This is all supported by biology… which is geared to automatically make us fear and run away from things with sharp teeth. Much more insidious is the human notion to distrust unfamiliar people. Back in olden days hiding out from “rival tribes” and the like would probably be a good idea, as is the inherent mistrust or fear of things we don’t know.
Now, society is doing it’s best to deprogram people of it’s more blatant “ism’s” as soon as it can. Look at little kids, for how innocent they are they can be some of the most racist and mean little bastards on the planet.
Granted, society has a long way to go to more comprehensively deprogram more people sooner… and I recognize there are a lot more inequalities in opportunity… but I think things are a lot better than they were and continue to grow despite the problems.
Love and kisses and I love that you have these discussions.
Cheers,
Peter from Atlanta
