If restaurants were required to have complete nutritional information posted in their menus, then I agree that people should make their own decisions and let the market decide. However, as it stands, it is either difficult or impossible to get complete nutritional information about restaurant food. If people don't have the INFORMATION to make decisions, then we need to pull the most dangerous substances out of the industry as a whole. If restaurants were required to have complete nutritional information posted in their menus, then I agree that people should make their own decisions and let the market decide. However, as it stands, it is either difficult or impossible to get complete nutritional information about restaurant food. If people don’t have the INFORMATION to make decisions, then we need to pull the most dangerous substances out of the industry as a whole.

It's like tobacco being allowed to continue using nicotine to keep people addicted to a hazardous product. Trans fat was created to extend shelf life and improve product texture. And boy do we Americans love it! A ban may be heavy handed and out of place by government. It seems a warning on products would be more appropriate.
