Drag Queen Loves Michele Bachmann; Asks For Hand In Marriage

Minneapolis drag queen entertainer Wanda Wisdom proposes marriage to ultra-conservative Republican candidate Michele Bachmann.

Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) September 15, 2006 – Today’s announcement that pioneering drag queen podcaster Wanda Wisdom is proposing marriage to family values crusader and Minnesota Sixth District Congressional hopeful Michele Bachmann is sure to raise a few eyebrows.

From her utilitarian recording studio in south Minneapolis, the coquettish queen of podcasting shocked many by offering her hand in matrimony to the mother of traditional marriage in Minnesota. “I wanted to do my bit to protect the institution of marriage,” says Wanda. “Did you know people can marry dogs in Canada?” Her motives, however, appear aimed at self-preservation. “I’m the product of the union between a man and a woman, right? I want to make sure future generations of drag queens get the same opportunities I had. Besides, I’m 31, still single and I have the right plumbing.”

As to why she’s setting her sights on the already married Bachmann, Wanda is unapologetic. “Who else would I marry? I love Michele. She’s not afraid to tell people what’s really wrong with this country. If we don’t defend marriage, the terrorists win. I think they’re really behind this anyway. I heard on Fox News that Osama is alleged to have married a Volkswagen Jetta.”

For her part Bachmann through her campaign has refused repeated attempts to discuss the matter with Wanda directly. “It’s OK. I imagine protecting marriage is a pretty busy job. It’s under attack from all sides and our country is really in danger of losing its moral credibility. Besides, we’ll have plenty of time to chat on the honeymoon.”

Although it seems unlikely Senator Bachmann would actually leave her current husband to marry an openly gay drag queen, Wanda remains ever hopeful. “I know Michele’s going to come through, but I’m planning the wedding, regardless. The institution of marriage is bigger than any one person.”

Asked how she would feel being married to a possible member of Congress, Wanda hesitated. “I hope she doesn’t get elected, actually. That way we’ll have more time to spend trading makeup and hair tips… and upholding the sacred union between a man and a woman.”
