LBR#314: Valerie Harper Bedazzles Boudoir!
Today’s surprise celebrity guest is Valerie Harper, an amazing artist whose work has inspired many, including our hostess Wanda Wisdom. She’s won four Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe and she’s been on the stage or in front of a camera since the 1950s. Beyond that, as you’re sure to hear, today’s guest is a genuinely kind, thoughtful soul, full of a disarming warmth unique among divas.

Oh my dearest flabodles, this was a great interview! At the beginning, when she had the wonderfully insighful stuff to say about life and enjoying it, and having balance, I was thinking that it sounded like the Landmark Forum, so it was such a great surprise to hear her say that she took the EST training which was the progenitor of The Landmark Forum. This is the training I took a couple of years ago, and they have some great insights on ways of empowering yourself and being the agent of your own transformation in the world. PS - Hearing Valerie with the crackly phone sound didn’t bother me at all. It made me think of what it must have sounded like to Carlton the doorman from his end. You can be our Carlton, Wanda! (Imagine what the show might have been like if the dorrman were a drag queen!)

I just wanted to let you know that I heard your interview earlier this week with Valerie Harper and was glad to hear that she really embraces the Rhoda character that she played years back. Most actors today don’t want to be associated with a character once they have moved on to other roles, but was glad to hear that she doesn’t mind.
