Hey Davy,

You were perfectly justified in speaking up, and I appreciate the opportunity to get a clue about the value of broadening my perception, you know?

I know what you mean about people pretending you are not there. I think that our culture is so awful about how we learn to pretend things aren't there. Hmmmm.... I think back to a time when I was on the bus on my way to school, i was in 5th or 6th grate. My friend's mother had died and I saw him and told him I was sorry to hear that. A couple of kids near me were horrified and told me I wasn't supposed to say that.

Why do we always pretend that things aren't happening that we find uncomfortable? you know, Like the mom who scolds her child for asking someone in a wheelchair what happened to his legs? I am not in that situation, but it seems that if I was I would prefer to be asked a potentially uncomfortable question than for people to avoid making eye-contact with me.

What are your thoughts on all of that? What do you think about having this conversation on my show?

Mikeypod,

I should not have been bitchy to you.
I am sorry.
I was having one of those days and I just get too touchy about shit.
It IS hard and I am a bitchy person, which makes it even harder.
I have only been sick for four years and before this had no idea how rough was is for people who are handicapped.
Many people feel uncomfortable and so they pretend you are not even there.
They do not mean to be cruel, it's just one of those things.
Sorry to get so God damned cheezy.
I like it when you visit with Wanda and when Cheryl and Madge make fun of you. Your pain makes my day better:)
Sorry again and thanks for being so sweet in your reply to my bitchy post.

Davy,

Thank you for speaking up. Sometimes it takes me pissing someone off/hurting someones feelings to realize that I have been a complete ass. I'm sorry.
