Cards, sweet nothings, trinkets, baubles, food, flowers…ways to our hearts that can be found at the other end of a click. In the stores nearby. On our way home to our loved ones. Remember, it’s not all about the gifts, it’s the thought that counts. But, gifts are fun, too.

Where do we find Valentines for our beloveds? Mass market production of same-sex valentines has yet to take off, so we’re left perusing aisles for somewhat neutral lovey-dovey sentiments that aren’t specifically aimed at genders. If you’re one who plans ahead (note that this issue is out well before Valentine’s Day), you can take advantage of the selection of queer cards on Etsy, where independent artists sell their wares. What can’t be guaranteed is that all of these cards will be in-stock and available when you’re shopping online; but, what can be guaranteed is that these are probably just the tip of the iceberg. Go to and use search terms like “gay valentines,” “same-sex love,” “lesbian valentines,” and enjoy the results.
